Affirmative Action IN Action: Underachiever May Soon Hold Our Highest Office

A few Cornerites are batting around the contention that if Obama is not elected, bitter accusations of racism from the Left will haunt our nation for another 20 years.

Maybe so, but I agree with John Miller:

I would argue that although the defeat of Obama may hurt race relations to some degree (especially when liberals try to pin it on racism), even worse would be for America’s first black president to be a failed president.

I can’t count how many times I’ve been called a racist because I don’t support Obama. Thing is, never once did I ever even touch the fact he’s black, as that has nothing to do with my vote. I still think Hillary suffered more bigotry because she was a woman than Obama ever will because he’s black.

Elizabeth,

Thanks so much for this morsel. I like to fancy myself a pretty sharp guy. But I must confess I never once thought about this aspect of the fray.

So many assume that charges of racism will abate once we elect a black President. I never went past that to ask what would happen to the state of racism in America if we elected a bad black President.

I don’t feel too bad about it, though. Because I already know what will happen if we elect Barack Obama, decidedly a bad presidential candidate. I’ve even opined on it a bit over at my place. The reason I don’t feel so bad is because, like Dave above, race doesn’t enter into my equation until put there by Obama and the Democrats. How like them to project their moral weakness and vanity onto their opponents.

Still, for the many around the world who follow the racist mantra with baited breath, Obama being elected is a win-win. If he succeeds, they can pillory their opponents with “Why did you hold onto your racism for so long? We told you blacks were as good as anyone!” And if he fails, they can always fall back on “America didn’t vote for or support a black man because of his race!” Nice for them …

As always, good stuff here at E!! Keep up the good work. And thanks for the comment on the Faith Based thing. Shoot! You should have just turned it into a post here and hat tipped me. It was that good! Good to see you bust loose a bit and write a bit more at length. Brevity is truly the soul of wit. But politics can stand a bit more in depth analysis now and again!

Short version?? You Rock!

I’ll be voting against the Caucasian half of Obonga. The socialist anti-American mama half, who couldn’t leave or marry out of America fast enough, and who dumped the second husband when he became too Western. Don’t forget the typical white grandmother, who supported her radical non-working husband.
The absent African narcissist alcoholic husband and biological father I can deal with.
I’ve a very slight preference for the stubby, vain rooster whose principles swirl like intellectual dust conected to his last bout of perceived honor. The one who hates conservatives as much as I detest him.
This is a race of two nags I wouldn’t put two dollars on, but somebody is going to reach the finish line.
