Kim Strassel @ the WSJ reports a general lack of Senatorial enthusiasm for Big Labor’s card check proposal.  Nice to see most reasonable Dems are willing to curtail the unions – and preserve the integrity of elections via the secret ballot.

Card check–where did the name come from. I don’t know but it sounds like the old days when the political bosses (in those large urban areas) would get there hands on some blank ballots,mark them, and give them to votes going into the polls and require that they bring a blank one back out–them they would dole out a few bucks. In other words, they were checking the ballot before it was put in the ballot box. Sure way to get a vote. Unions have helped drive the northeast and midwest into the ditch. I guess the unions need the help of big brother now–they are in such decline.
